Navigate360
Education and Safety Platforms at Scale

The Challenge
Schools operate in high-stakes environments where clarity and speed matter. Educators and safety teams rely on many disconnected systems to manage emergencies, student well-being, behavior, attendance, and intervention.
-
The problem was not a lack of data.
-
The problem was fragmentation.
Critical information lived across separate tools, workflows, and interfaces. During emergencies or moments of concern, users were forced to piece together context manually, increasing cognitive load and slowing response.
Focus:
Platform UX, research, AI-supported insight, system design
Scope:
Multi-product ecosystem used nationwide
My Role:
Director of User Experience and Product
As Director of User Experience and Product, I led UX strategy and research across multiple education and safety platforms. My responsibility extended beyond individual features into system-level thinking.
I partnered closely with product, engineering, data science, and executive leadership to:
-
Define experience strategy across products
-
Lead research with educators, administrators, and first responders
-
Establish design patterns and consistency across platforms
-
Guide AI-supported insights toward trust and usability
-
Translate complex data into actionable experiences
Approach
-
Design for high-pressure moments, not ideal conditions
-
Reduce cognitive load before adding features
-
Surface what changed, why it matters, and what to do next
-
Respect educator judgment and avoid AI overreach
-
Build consistency across systems without flattening role needs

Key Initiatives

NavigateOne Platform & Education Forward
I led my team’s design and execution of NavigateOne, Navigate360’s unified digital platform that brings data and insights from across products into a single, coherent view for schools and districts. We created a consolidated interface and experience that surfaces predictive signals, early warning indicators, and key student behavior and safety trends in one place so teams can act sooner and with confidence. This work streamlined complex workflows, connected siloed information, and made it easier for educators and safety staff to spot patterns, intervene effectively, and support students and campuses more proactively as part of a broader AI-enabled safety and well-being ecosystem.

Emergency Management Systems
I led the redesign of Navigate360’s Emergency Management system to deliver a modern, user-friendly interface that supports safety teams under pressure. We reworked workflows, navigation, and visual structure so users can quickly plan, activate alarms, track drills, and manage reunification with less confusion and delay. The updated interface brings clarity to complex tasks, standardizes key safety functions, and improves coordination between staff and first responders. Our redesign reduced friction in critical moments and strengthened the product’s role as a core part of a unified, platform-wide UI experience.

Navigate360 Platform Refresh
I led the UI rebrand initiative for all Navigate360 products to unify them under a single, cohesive user interface. My team redesigned navigation, layout, and visual elements so every product shares the same structure and patterns, reducing learning friction and speeding up user onboarding. We standardized icons, fonts, and flows to improve usability and accessibility across the platform. This effort delivered a consistent experience that lets users move between tools with confidence and efficiency, strengthening the overall product ecosystem and aligning with the company’s holistic approach to safety and well-being.
